![]() ![]() I love it – the towns, beaches and countryside are beautiful. ![]() ![]() I moved here when I was eighteen, but I feel like this is my true home. Nearly all my novels are set in and around the area of Dorset where I live. Plus, we only made a profit during our first show, the other times we just about broke even. Over the course of six shows we had four instances of major theft, a forest fire, the worst storm on record, someone set up illegal rave, an outbreak of foot and mouth disease, and an actual bomb scare with police cordoning off the area and evacuating everyone. When we were in our twenties, my husband and I set up VW car shows. I’m not sure I could write without her nearby. ![]() Sometimes she sneaks up onto the sofa and rests her chin on my keyboard. My writing companion is a little Poodle/Lhasa Apso/Terrier cross called Jess who sits at my feet while I type. Turns out I only needed to walk another two minutes to find myself back at the kibbutz where I was staying. When I was nineteen, I hitchhiked at night in Israel and ended up in the middle of nowhere convinced I was going to die. We have a houseful of all kinds of books. We always read to them when they were younger. My youngest quite enjoys it, but has to be pretty much forced into trying a new book. My eldest is dyslexic and has never enjoyed reading or writing. I write for a living, and so does my husband, but neither of our children are particularly avid readers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And to do that, Cassie has to find faith that she’s stronger than she thinks, she’s still a crack shot and true love never dies. Survival’s great and all, especially when you have leather armor, good friends and home-brewed beer, but there’s something Cassie must do besides survive: tell Adrian she still loves him. This, coupled with Adrian’s distant voice on Safe Zone Radio and, of course, the living dead, threaten to put Cassie right back into the funk she just dragged herself out of. And it’s a lot farther than she’d anticipated. 1 doubles, the duo of McElrath and Ella Goodwin claimed a 6-2, 7-5 win over Toby and Amy Cox. ![]() When the two attract a threat as deadly as the undead to their safe haven, Cassie’s forced to see how far she’ll go to protect those she loves. Sarah McElrath picked up a 6-0, 6-3 triumph over Isabella Toby at first singles. This is difficult enough, but Cassie’s tag along ex-boyfriend and her friend’s bratty sister have a knack for making everything, even the apocalypse, more unpleasant. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.
